Akasa Air, India’s newest airline, will soon allow domesticated cats and dogs to fly along with passengers. Bookings for the same will begin from October 15th.
Important: The first flight to take off with pets will be on November 1st.

Here are the details:
Pets under 7 kgs of weight can be brought inside the passenger cabin while the rest can fly in the cargo compartment.
According to news reports, this is only “Phase 1” of the carrier’s pet policy, which will be enhanced eventually. In addition, the airline will be working with an NGO to help ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for the passengers as well as the pets.
