India’s premier semi-high speed train, Vande Bharat Express or Train 18 now has air hostesses on board, just like flights.
Indian Railways has hired over 34 ‘air hostesses and flight stewards’ to take care of the passengers.
The air hostesses will be dressed in white shirt-black trousers with a black sleeveless jacket, a silk scarf around the neck. They will wheel in the food trolleys, loaded with food and drinks for the passengers. The air hostesses and flight stewards would also greet passengers with a smile and ‘namaste’ while boarding and deboarding.
This move is part of a six-month pilot project to take forward Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of making Indian Railways more competitive by offering world-class service to all passengers.
Note: If this project is successful, railways would hire more such personnel for other premium trains like Shatabdi, Tejas, Rajdhani and Humsafar Express trains.
