Q: Where was your last vacation?

Payal: This summer we went for a family holiday to the captivating island of Thira Santorini in Greece. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited in my life… the sunset is absolutely picture perfect and the view, simply to die for !!!

Q: Tell us about some dishes that you had there.

Payal: We loved the traditional Santorinian dishes which included fava dip, a salad with cherry tomatoes and goat’s cheese, Santorini cucumber katsouni and capers,

Q: Did you buy something from there?

Payal: From Santorini, I bought some very interesting handmade cotton crochet shawls and tunics, lava stone jewellery and coral and turquoise bracelets.

Q: How adventurous did you get on your trip?

Payal: We dived into the depths of the Agean Sea and swam in the fluctuating extreme temperatures of the incredible sulphur springs. The emerald green, harsh, salty sulphur water burnt our eyes and mouth but this did not diminish the spirit of adventure.

Q: Which is your favourite track right now?

Payal: Set Fire to the Rain by Adele

Q: What are you currently reading?

Payal: The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan

Q: When have you felt a moment of peace during your trip?

Payal: A peaceful and serene walk from the village of Imerovigli, along the mountain ridge… right through to the town of Thira.

Q: A must visit place according to you?

Payal: Istanbul for its amazing heritage, craft and textiles
