No more carrying home-cooked food as food on trains is definitely getting cheaper and easier too. The initiative aims at boosting the popularity of the e-catering facility. You can book meals online via the website of IRCTC to avail a 50% cashback on order above Rs. 300.
It’s important to note that the order must be on the “Food on Track” app or through thee-catering website of IRCTC (www.ecatering.irctc.co.in). The payment would be credited to the same account through which the order was made by the passengers (post the delivery date).
IRCTC has partnered with over 40 vendors for delivering food online in running trains. Once you book your respective meal, it will provided to you at your berth when the train halts at the nearest station. Remember, food can be booked only in a prepaid mode.
Important points to consider for availing the 50% cashback–
- The order must be above Rs. 300 in case you want to avail the cashback offer
- Make sure to pay in advance via Paytm or HDFC PG to avail the offer
- Post delivery only the cashback will be processed and amount will be credited to the same account through which booking was made
- The passenger will informed after IRCTC has credited the amount
