5 important railway updates about cancellations and diversions

1> Owing to low occupancy due to the surge in Covid-19 cases, the Northern Railways has decided to cancel three trains, including the New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi, starting today.

In an official announcement, the railways said that “poorly patronised special trains” such as train number 04517/18 (Kalka-Shimla-Kalka), 04053/54 (New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi) and 04525/26 (Ambala-Sri Ganganagar-Ambala) will remain cancelled. The trains will remain cancelled from today till further orders due to low occupancy.

2> The Central Railway has cancelled trains to Sainagar Shirdi, Pandharpur and other pilgrimage places due to low occupancy amid growing COVID-19 cases. Maharashtra has recorded a high number of cases in the last couple of days due to which the state has shut all the major temples and other places of tourist interest.

Due to unavoidable circumstances, railways has decided to cancel and divert several trains. Check out the list — 

4> Due to maintenance work, train services are regulated in the Barddhaman – Rampurhat Section of West Bengal. Traffic and power will be blocked for 8 hours.
