1. Siachen Folk Festival

2. International Shimla Summer Festival
Planning to hit the hills to escape the heat? Then, Shimla should be on your list as the International Shimla Summer Festival is finally coming back after two years! The festival is a confluence of art, literature, music and entertainment. Visitors can attend the flower exhibition, participate in the painting and quiz competitions, and also enjoy the cultural performances put together by local and renowned artists.

3. Fireflies Festival
Want to attend a lit festival this summer? Then, head over to Maharashtra to witness some stunning fireflies, also known as jugnu. Often called nature’s fairy lights, these creatures come out before monsoon to mate. You can attend the Fireflies Photography Boot Camp in Bhandardara (4th–5th June), Rajmachi Bike Ride and Fireflies Festival near Lonavala (4th–5th June), and Purushwadi Fireflies Festival – Treks and Trails in Purushwadi village (till 26th June), among others.

4. The Great Mango Festival
When we think of summer, the first thing that comes to mind is those juicy and luscious mangoes. A respite from the heat and a treat for the sweet tooths. This June, the Great Mango Festival of India will be held at Hanu Reddy Raghava Farms in Othivakkam. You can also attend the International Mango Festival, which will take place in Delhi next month.

5. Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF)
This is for all you cinephiles who live and breathe cinema. The 17th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival is currently taking place in the city of dreams. It is South Asia’s oldest and largest film festival, showcasing documentaries, short fiction as well as animation films. MIFF’s theme this year is ‘India@75’, which commemorates the 75 years of India’s independence.
