10 New Vande Bharat Express Trains to be Launched in Kerala!

Ten new Vande Bharat Express trains, also known as Namo Bharat, are set to launch in Kerala soon, enhancing inter-city travel across the state. These Vande Bharat trains are engineered for speeds up to 130 km/h and come with modern amenities like automatic sliding doors and CCTV cameras to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

Out of the ten new express trains, two will operate from Kollam, with routes to Thirunelveli and Thrissur, and there are plans to extend the Thrissur route further to the temple town of Guruvayur. New connections will also link Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam and Guruvayur to Madurai in Tamil Nadu.

In addition to main routes, Vande Bharat stops include Kollam on the Guruvayur-Madurai and Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram routes, offering a seamless travel experience for passengers.

Trains headed to Thirunelveli and Madurai will pass through scenic routes like Kottarakkara, Punalur, Thenmala, and Aryankavu, following the historic Kollam-Shenkottai line.


For travellers, the Vande Bharat fare begins at ₹30 (inclusive of GST), making it an affordable choice. It has a monthly pass option that covers 20 single journeys, ideal for regular commuters. For example, the Vande Bharat train ticket price on the Bhuj to Ahmedabad trains route is set at ₹430, excluding GST.
